Creating a better Tomorrow — What we have achieved so far:

At Spice O’ Life we know that water is the source of life.

Which is why none of the water in our new factory is chemically treated. Instead of using chlorine or fluoride, we filter, and UV treat our water so that it is as clean as it can possibly be.

Clean water, after all, creates better flavours in our products, supports our environment, and protects our employees.

You will never find chemically treated water in our products from our new Factory.

But it doesn’t stop there – we are always finding smart ways to conserve this precious resource.

We take the same water used for cooling our products and repurpose it for wash downs in our factory.

We love finding smart solutions to reduce our reliance on energy.

Which is why we’ve perfected the art of taking from one process to power another.

Take for instance our energy reclaim system- We take energy from cooling and blast chilling our products and use it to heat the hot water in our factory.

In recent years we’ve transitioned the factory to using natural gas. But this is only phase 1. Our next objective is to generate 35% of our power from solar panels installed on our factory roof. We are on track to achieve this by 2027.

Sustainability is more than just a philosophy, it is a culture we have ingrained in the business.

We return all cardboard so that it can be repurposed and reused.

Our tins and plastics are cleaned and put back into the recycling stream. A recently installed compactor has allowed us to reduce the frequency of waste collections by a staggering 80%. In previous years our waste and recycling was collected weekly. Thanks to our handy compactor, we now only need this done every 7 weeks. Little changes have a big impact if everybody does their part – and we are committed to doing ours.

Empowering Change Beyond Our Walls — Our love for sustainability extends to our customers.

Each day, we develop solutions that empower them to make simple yet greener choices. From foodservice to retail, from industry to butcher shops, our sachets have been a game-changer in helping our customers reduce their waste and recycling costs. Moving our customers from tubs and buckets to our sachets and pouches, uses 85% less plastic. These sachets are only the start in our journey to use smarter packaging to effect big changes.
