Our curiosity around flavour has been in our DNA for generations. West Cork, where we are based, is steeped in food history – The English markets of 1788 saw local families prepare and sell salted beef, pork and butter. These foods went on to be exported to the West Indies as provisions for the British Navy. From that tiny market, we became the largest exporters of butter in the world at that time.
Today, that entrepreneurial spirit is still in the blood of the people who make Spice O’ Life what it is. It fuels our innovation, inspires our creations, and drives us to use flavour as a way of making healthy cooking easy. Our background in chemistry and food science, coupled with our training with flavour companies in America, makes us the flexible, forward-thinking, continuously innovating company that we are today.
But at Spice O' Life, it's not just about flavours; it's about creating memories through food and forging connections with the people who use our products.
We share our history below so that you can better understand who we are, what drives us and what we have learned on this crazy journey called life.
